Description:

The Specter is a Spirit-class saber and favored weapon of Clan Felmaw infiltrators. While still a Spirit-class saber at heart, the Specter has features to distinguish itself from other sabers in this class.

To better serve the needs of those who wield it, the Specter was designed with a unibody construction. This means the emitter, midsection, and grip are one solid piece. Only the pommel is removable on this saber chassis. While this construction type offers unparalleled rigidity and strength, the sacrifice is flexible mission loadouts. However, for those desiring a purpose-built saber, this is not an issue.

The Specter features vertical cooling vents underneath an angle-cut emitter. A slender neck offers the lead hand a secure grip and, thanks to the unibody construction, strength here is not compromised.

As most Spirit-class sabers, the Specter can be combined with another saber to create a staff. The pommel doubles as a coupler, which means no other parts are required to create a staff with another saber.

Lore:

"Leave no trace. Leave no witness."

-Infiltrator Gaius Felmaw

The chessboard of galactic politics is dominated by great houses and major factions, yet it is the minor clans that are often the instruments used to win battles. One of the more prominent clans in the Inner Sphere is Clan Felmaw.

Unlike a great house, clans are much smaller political families. They rarely control an entire planet, much less an entire star system. Clans usually operate from a fleet, starbase, flotilla, or continent on a disputed world. Most clans pledge fealty to a great house for mutual aid.

Clan Felmaw is a clan on the rise, with no pledged affiliation. They may one day become powerful enough to claim the mantle of Great House, but until then, they wait, scheme, and play the game of power. Operating as an unaffiliated clan makes them vulnerable, but also allows them to avoid being used as pawns in proxy warfare.

The massive Felmaw fleet serves as the base of operations for the entire clan. Hundreds of ships comprise this force, all with hyperspace capabilities; mobility being the key to survival for an unaffiliated clan.

One of the specialities of their clan is the elimination of key targets. They see it as using a scalpel rather than an axe to accomplish the same goals. Felmaw Infiltrators are renowned across the galaxy for their craft and make excellent recruits into the Enclave where they can better grow the power and influence of their clan.
