This is the Crimson Dawn version of the legendary Darksaber. We have gone through painstaking detail to bring you this Darksaber inspired saber with dueling quality and an affordable cost. Once you hold our Darksaber in your hands, you will agree this saber is built to have the toughness to match its great looks.
Unlike most sabers, the Darksaber doesn't have a traditional cylindrical shape. The hilt is fashioned like an old school vibroblade, complete with a crossguard. No doubt this design is intentional considering the origin of the man behind the construction of the original Darksaber.
The crossguard on this saber features a cortosis weave which enables it to catch a lightsaber blade. This offers excellent protection for the hand. However, this also means the crossguard has right angles, so a little care must be made while wielding it so you don't scratch yourself on a corner.
Due to the popularity of the Darksaber, other trade syndicates in the Rim Worlds have tried to capitalize by creating their own replicas. However, since they didn't have access to the original design, their versions have much larger dimensions. We feel the Crimson Dawn version is much more accurate, not to mention, just a better saber overall. Of course, we may be biased, so we have included side-by-side images of their version vs ours where you can see the difference for yourself. Who knows, you may be a species that is a giant compared to humans and may prefer their version. Stranger things have happened.
"Since when did Mandalorians use lightsabers?"
-Sentinel Flarr Elorium
The ancient origins of the Darksaber is a hotly debated topic by historians throughout the Inner Sphere. It is generally agreed that the original is one of a kind, many thousands of years old, of Mandalorian design, and hand built by a male Mandalorian force user. The details of who this person was, when exactly he lived, and who trained him in saber construction and combat is not universally agreed upon.
Today, the Darksaber is the symbol of House Wren, one of the most powerful families in the Inner Sphere. House Wren controls the entire Coryban star system, making their home on the Forge World of Coryban Prime. In that seat of power rests the original Darksaber which is still wielded in combat by the Patriarch of House Wren to this day.
Legend has it that House Wren was once in vassalage to other great houses, but rose to prominence during the Great War when their leaders united neighboring clans under the Wren banner by wielding the Darksaber in heroic combat. House Wren, which was barely larger than a clan before the war, won victory after victory. Soon every clan and minor house in the system pledged fealty to House Wren, solidifying their place as the most powerful house in their sector.
Patriarchs of House Wren believe the force lives inside the Darksaber and imbues the wielder with abilities that some consider unnatural. They insist the success of their house lives and dies with the Darksaber and that it must be used in battle, from time to time, to be kept "fed" and thus "alive".
Now that Crimson Dawn has created a suitable version worthy of its legendary name, the Legions of Wren have begun to outfit their force wielders with Darksabers. This will ensure that the symbol of House Wren will be not only be seen, but felt, on battlefields across the galaxy. This has resulted in low availability of this weapon to other worlds since most of these weapons will go directly to combat units and only a few will be available to the general market.
